Eggs & Bacon: A Real Documentary Photo Session Around the Best Meal of the Day
I love slow mornings. I definitely would not consider myself a “morning person” by any stretch of the imagination, but I put slow mornings in a different category. The mornings I’m talking about are the ones with no alarm, where you can roll out of bed, stay in your PJs, brew some coffee, and really be present with the ones you love. Typically, this also involves some very delicious breakfast food as well (hello, donuts!).
This family take the phrase ”breakfast is the most important meal of the day!” very seriously. They enjoy breakfast together EVERY SINGLE DAY: how amazing is that?! They spend their mornings together and start their days on the right foot with a yummy meal. As a result, it only made sense for us to document this routine as a part of this Storyteller Session.
I realized quickly that this sweet family seems to appreciate the slow morning as much as I do. There was no need to rush and hustle on this wintery Saturday morning. Between the sizzle of the bacon in the kitchen, giggles could be heard. The smell of coffee and eggs filled the air. The warm mid-morning light (my absolutely favorite) filled the room.
The next free morning you have, weekend or not, take advantage. Stay in those pajamas or sweats all morning (or all day! I don’t judge.), drink that extra cup of coffee, run around like a superhero through the kitchen (if looking for advice on this piece, check out the photo below). I promise it will be worth it.
